THE WOOL SALES.
♦■ Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, 10th inst. : " Wool sales closed fairly animated, but lately-reported rates are hardly maintained. Compared with closing rates of last sales greasy merino, good combing fleece and pieces, are 5 to 8 per cent, higher ; greasy merino, medium and inferior fleece, par to 5 per cent, higher; cross-breds, par to 5 per cent, higher ; good Ecoured wools, a change, if any, is in favor of sellers; medium and inferior scoured wools, 5 per cent, higher."
