GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS.
Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report that prices ruled as under at their auction sale to-day:— Oats.—We offered about 2,000 sacks. Bidding was fairly brisk, and with few exceptions every lot on our catalogue was cleared at prices on a par with last week's quotations. Sutherlands and long Tartars, Is lid to 2s 2d ; sparrowbills, milling, and best feed. Is lOd to Is 101 d ; medium to good, Is 9d to Is 9Jd per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—We offered all classes, and have to report values practically unchanged. Prime milling velvet realised 3s 9d to 3s lOd ; do Tuscan, 3s 7d to 3s 8d ; medium milling, 3s 5d to 3s 6d ; fowl feed, 2s lid to 3a 3d per bushel (sacks in). Potatoes.—For prime Derwents the market remains firm. We sold kidneys at £2 10s ; medium Derwents at £2 12s Cd. Best are worth £2 15s to £3 per ton (sacks in). Chaff.—We offered about sixty tons, which met with an improved demand, and sold under strong competition, at for best oaten sh-af. £2 15s to £2 17s b'd ; extra prime and heavy to £3; medium to good, £2 10s to £2 12s 6d per ton (bags extra).
