KENNEDY, THE MESMERIST.
The Dunedin laughing season will commence next Tuesday nigh.t at the Princess's Theatre, when Mr Kennedy, the worldfamed mesmerist, will commence a tour of New Zealand. Mr Kennedy claims to be the " king laugh-maker of the world," aud, excepting during periods when he is running needles and thread through the cheeks and arms and ears of his subjects, or sticking darning needles into their scalps and backs, the laughter he causes goes a long way towards establishing his claim to that title. A man who can suspend the auimation of a fellow-being for a period of eight days and eight nights, and then waken him at a word, commands respect not unmixed with awe. Mr Kennedy has lately terminated a two years' engagement at the Westminster Aquarium, London, and since then ho has appeared with phenomenal success in Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide. The professor certainly stands foremost amongst those who are able, by perfectly unobjectionable means, to keep an audience thoroughly amused for a oouple of hours—no easy task in these days. The entertainment, from beginning to end, is one that should be seen to be enjoyed. It is devoid of cant or bluff, is thoroughly realistic, and on its merits is sure to command a large patronage. As a cure for deficient circulation, shortness of breath, shortness of cash, the blues, the megrims, or any other fashionable complaint, a visit to Mr Kennedy's unique entertainment may be safely recommended,
