Hauroto will arrive at the Duncdiu wharf tomorrow forenoon. The barque SUverstreairi, from Algoa Bay. arrived off the Heads yesterday afternoon, ana after receiving orders she sailed for Napier. The'Gazette'contains the following amended regulation under the Shipping and Seamen's Act: Any person who, prior to January 1,1896, has cither commanded a vessel not less than 300 tons register, trading on the coast of New Zealand, or has been engaged piloting similar vessels on the (toast of New Zealand, may, subject to the approval of the Marine Department, receive a license as colonial pilot without undergoing examination, provided that he held prior to the above date a certificate of competency or service or grade not lower than of master in the Home trade and satisfies as to his sobriety and general trustworthiness."
The brigantine Enterprise left the Rattray street wharf this forenoon for Wanganui via Timaru.
The barqnentine Jasper is all clear of cargo and ballasting. - The biigantine Sarah and Mary has taken in a quantity of cargo at the Rattray street wharf. The Matatua has put out about 750 tons cargo into the railway trucks at the George street pier.

Passengers: Misses Greenwood, Brown, Hastie, and Smith, Rev. Mr Walker, Messrs Parker, Heathcote, Moffatt, Cameron, Coombe?,' and Master Brown. ' Wellington, October 25. Tekapo, from Sydney. She brings ninety-eight passengers for ail ports, of whom fifty landed here. Passengers: For Lyttelton-Mesdames Payling, Baldwin, Green. Miss Grove, Messrs Green, Payling, Webb, Nelson, Coombs, Watt, Kirkcaldy, I>e Williams, Wilson, and Newbury-Spada Concert Company; and twenty in the steerage. For Dunedin—Misses Royse, Scott, Christie, Moffatt, Jordon, and Campbell, Mesdames Perslin and Russell, Messrs Russell and Clark; and six in the steerage.
