A LOVER'S FATAL QUARREL.
An inquest was held at Nugent (Tag.): last week touching the death of Alice Brown, twenty-six years of age, who was found hanging to a limb of a tree on fchepreviouß day. It transpired in evidence that the girl, who was about to be married. had been quarrelling with her intended husband on the road, and parting from aim in a fit of passion, turned into the bush close to the road, broke down a slight gun sapling, and, pulling tho bark off it, got on a> log close to the tree to which the strip of bark was tied, formed a rough noose, and fastening it round her neck threw herself off* the log, and although her foot was still on the log managed to strangle herself: The deed was committed within view of twohouses, and within a few yards of the reacL; the body being found by a selector named Kean, who w&s looking for some etJbtim. After hearing the evidence the jury f•and! that the unfortunate young woman had) hanged herself whilst of unsound mind.
