MUNICIPAL.
Roslyn. The Mavor (Mr Kemnitz). Crs Liddell, Sutherland, Scott, Philp, Sim, Wedderspoon, Watson, Paterson, Drew, Miller, and Wilson attended last night's Council meeting. The Finance Committee reported that the overdraft was £77l.—The Works Committee reported that the inspector had been asked to report as to the feasibility of making a footpath and kerbing on Littlcbourne road, and also on the state of the Belt footpath at tho foot of Littlebournc road. The Committee advised that no action be taken with regard to the request to divert the North Taieri road water.—Mr T. Walker's complaint as to certain trees was referred to the Works Committee.—Mrs Auld's claim for damages to her fence was not recognised.—lt was resolved that tenders be called for cutting gorse on the roads in Rutherglen.— The Mayor said that he had been seen by one of the officers of the City Corporation with reference to the abattoirs question, and had been asked whether it was agreed that the Roslyn Council should have that matter up for consideration. He replied that so far as he knew that intention did not exist, but he promised to lay the matter before the Counoil. He had oaused ciroulars to be sent out to the councillors, the majority of whom seemed to be in favor of abattoirs being erected at Abbotsford. He did not think they could do anything themselves. They wero not directly interested in the ereotion of abattoirs. The matter dropped without further remark.
