BYE-ELECTIONS.

LONDON, May 15. The election for the vacancy in the representation of West Dorset, caused by the death of Mr H. Farquharson, resulted in the return of Mr Williams (Conservative) by a majority of 1.200 votes over Mr Horner, the Liboral candidate.
[The representation is unaltered, Mr Farquharson having been a Conservative, but the Conservative majoiity has been considerably increased. At the 1885 poll it was only 142; in 1886 it went up to 1,205, and in 1892 Mr Gatty got within 878 of the sitting member. Mr Farquharson sat in four Parliaments ]
Mr Bailey, a Conservative, has been elected for the Walworth seat in the Imperial Parliament (vice. Mr Saunders, deceased), defeating Mr Rice, the Radical candidate, by a majority of 571. The Socialist candidate obtaiiel only 347 votes. [This is another seat lost to the Liberals. The majority of the late Mr Saunder3 (Liberal) at the general election was 296.]
