ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
The death of D. B. Cniiekshauk, chairman of the Northern .Steamship Company, was painfully sudden. .Shortly after partakiug of his dinner at Remucra, Auckland, on Wednesday he complained of a pain at his heart, which he at first appeared to regard as but a slight attack, but it increased in severity, aud iu fifteen miuutes from the seizure he expired. The deceased gentleman was fifty-two years of age, and a native of St. Andrews, Fifcshire. He arrived in the colony in 1864. He leaves a widow (a daughter of the late Mr Robert Graham) and three sons aud two daughters. Dr Haines made a j'Od mortem and found that the cause of death was ossification of tho aorta.
The body of John Clinio, fisherman, drowned at Wanganui Heads on the 21st April, was found on Wednesday night, and at the inquest a verdict that death resulted through accident • was returned. A rider was added expressing appreciation of the noble conduct of Duncan M'Arthur and Antonio Bobich, who rescued the two men who were with Climo at the time of the accident.
Henry Doweling, an old miner, died suddenly at Adam's Flat on Monday afternoon. At tho inquest a verdict of "Died from natural causes " was returned.
