PKOSPECTUS. CT Us Pll O S P E OK THE DUNEDIN FRESH FOOD AND FROZEN PRODUCE STORAGE COMPANY, LIMITED. 1 o be registered under “ The Companies Act, 1882.” CAPITAL : £IO,OOO, IN £IO,COO SHARES OF £1 EACH, Payable as follows: —2s 6d on application, 2s 6d on allotment, and the balance in calls not exceeding Is per Share at intervals of not less than one month. Provisional Di rectors : Mr WILLIAM PATRICK Mr JOHN MACFARLANE Mr ALEXANDER THOMSON Mr J. F. NIXSON. Bankers: THE COLONIAL BANK OF NEW ZEALAND. Solicitors^ Messrs SMITH, CHAPMAN, SINCLAIR, and WHITE, Brokers : Mr A. G. FENWICK Messrs HAMILTON and MTvERROW (From whom Copies of Prospectus may bo obtained). No Colonial Industry offers fairer prospects of success of a permanent character than the dairy industry and its kindred industries, and no part of New Zealand is better adapted by nature for the successful development thereof than the Provincial District of Otago. Ihe export trade in dairy produce is now established on a firm and permanent basis, the only drawback being want of Cold Storage while waiting for shipment to the Home markets, and it is now recognised by all who are conversant with the trade and its requirements that in future a very large portion of our dairy produce must be held over in this colony at the end of our season for butter here till the season again becomes profitable for shipment to London (sai’ in October), past results having proved that very low prices are realised upon shipments after January. 'Hie New Zealand Government now grade and inspect all dairy produce in cold stores, such storage being subsidised and assisted bv them. * Believing that the above-mentioned Cold Storage can bo very profitably combined with the preservation of dairy produce and fresh food for local consumption, as also the manufacture of ice for sale, supplying thereby a much felt want amongst the loca fishmongers, butchers, bacon carers, poulterers, etc., ft is proposed to form a Company for the prosecution of this business, which, there can be no doubt, will offer a profitable held of ins-ostment for the capital required. Eminently suitable premises, approved bv loading daily experts, have been secured upon most favorable trims, and a large number of shares have been taken up b\ the promoters, who are themselves interested in several of the trades above mentioned, and realise the value of the Gobi Storage proposed to be provided, It is hilly expected that the Government business will be secured, as the Storage and facilities that can bo provided are superior in many way a to anything that can be provided elsewhere. it is estimated that at least 2,000 tons of cheese and 500 tons of butter will go through these Stores for export every r ear, and cold storage will bo provided for the local fishmongers, butchers, poulterers, and others, and this Storage will he eagerly sought after and availed of by many who have already taken an interest in the matter. Fanners and all dairy produce merchants will avail themselves of tho facilities offered for Storage, and tho Cool Stores will become a lemling centre of business in all these lines. Similar Cold Stores have proved a marked success in Australia, showing excellent returns upon the capital invested, and being a chief factor in t]io development of the large export trade in dairy produce now established in Victoria and New South Wales. The only contract entered into is one dated the N;nth day of April, 1895, between Joseph Francis Nixson and Alexander Thomson (as I rustce) for leasing, with an optional purchasing clause, tho =aid property. The said contract can bo inspected at the cilices of the Solicitors to tho Company.
