DUNEDIN FIELD CLUB.

The usual Indoor meeting was held on .Saturday evening. Mr W. T. Monkman in the absence of the president took the chair. There was no formal business, but members spent a very enjoyable couple of hours inspecting the fine collection of native beetles exhibited by Mr Chalmers—who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks—and other natural curiosities, conspicuous among which was a handsome specimen of Maori carving on human bone found at St. Clair, a native carnivorous plant (Dr oner a Unala), and a rare fern (Hymmophyllum malinyii), Mr Michael and an assistant were kept busy showing some prepared microscope slides, and altogether a most interesting evening was spent.
