CHRISTCHURCH, Decembek 28,

At this Police Court this morning Charles Langclovvn, a butcher, was committed for trial on a charge of discharging five shots out of a revolver at Constable Hayes, of Papanui. Accused is the same man who was shot by Wagstaff a few weeks ago in an alleged attempt to break into the latter's house. On the accused was found a letter addressed to the police stating his intention to shoot his wife and children, Poff (a publican), Wagstaff, and himself.
