* The Highland Rifles fired the first of their weekly handicap competitions for money prizes for the season 1894 95 on Thursday morning. The weather was very dull, making it rather difficult for good shooting, especially at the long range. The conditions of the match were : Seven shots and sightcr at 200 and 500 yards; one class only.
