NEW CHURCH AT AUCKLAND.

Yesterday the foundation stone of the new church of St. Pancras was laid on the appointed site, Lower Symonds street, in the presence of a large concourse of people. The stone-laying was undertaken by His Excellency Lord G!a3gow. Among the clergy present were the Bishops of Auckland (acting Primate), Dunedin, Christchurch, Nelson, and Melanesia. At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency the Governor delivered an address. The collection in aid of the building fund, taken at the close, amounted to £SO 14s, including a cheque for £lO from Lord Glasgow. The clergy afterwards presented an address of welcome to the Bishop of Melanesia.
