COURSING MEETING.
The Plumpton coursing meeting, under the management of the D.J.C., was continued to-day. The weather was unpleasant and the ground soft. Results:--ST. LEGER. Tlliut) RolNl). -Mars boat Midge, Bird on the Wing beat Lord Zetland, Victor beat Marco, Philosopher ran a bye. Mars led Midge, and the latter got in too late to avert defeat.-Lord Zetland got the turn after a good race, but Bird on the Wing hail clearly the best of the exchanges. -Victor drew out in the last two strides of the run up, and after turning fell, but Marco stood off and Victor was properly adjudged lhe winner. Fur aril RoiNi).—liinl on the Wing beat Mars, FhdosopliL-rbout Victor. Mars led .Bird on the Wing by two lengths, but could not live with the latter in workin ' the .v.'-ic. - Philosopher beat Victor very casilv. Fiv\:.-Mr M.Tavlor's Bird on the Wing, by l'.i\ wer l.'l'ception, beat Mr Cursey's I'hilo.-ophei-, by .Ncvtjii I'.i-iarroot, and won the stake. Razzle Dazzle heat Chorister, i:,-, Miii-lcy beat Beadonwell, Lizzie Woods beat I'iue Hut, Charlie beat Jack Tar. liazzle Dazzle got the first turn and had a Lit the best of Chorister throughout a lengthy course, though he once stumbled.— l!e>s Morley outpaced Ueadonwell, who ~,),„! oil'ami only scored the final wrench of a slni-l course.--Lizzie Woods boat Pine lint lliivc lengths iu lhe lead up, and was ,!,-eidcdly the cleverer in working.-There was nothing between .lack Tar and' Charlie in lie run up, and for a while, the. exchanges ucro cipial, but Charlie had the better of his opponent i'l the finish. Razzle Dazzle got the turn from Chance It, but the latter worked the smarter and plainly won.—A great race between Index and Marine, both being up together. Marine then secured possession, aud had a iriile the best of the working.—Tantrum led Biiarleaf, and from li to f against the Letting was soon '2 to I on the former, who umi all the way after a strong hare. MvT. Kelt to-day handed in his resignation as judge, hut acted to the end of the meeting, and gave decisions which met with general approval.
