LAND BOARD.

The following completes our report of yesterday’s Land Board proceedings : Mr J. Hartstonge applied to purchase his residence area of one acre in Macraes. —Referred to Ranger Hughan for a report. Mr Thomas Bowman’s application for a grazing right over block 39, Dunkeld, was declined. *

The Minister of Lands requested the Board to consider the question of offering sections 3, 8, and 9, block 2, section 22, block 5, and section 15, block 6, Waipori, as sinajl-grazing runs. Government recommended to set apart and offer as smallgrazing runs scctioq 3, block 2, and section 22, block 5, grouped, containing 450 acres, at 3d per acre (capital value, 10s.an acre); section 15, block 6, at 3d per acre ; sections 8 ami 9, block 2, grouped, at 3d per acre, (capital value, 10s), rootling, if necessary, to bo added. Mr W. F. Inder wrote asking that section 2, block 17, Maniototo, be notified, subject to the rigid to remove fencing on same within three months.-rlt was resolved that Mr Inder be allowed one month after section was applied for to remove fence or arrange with incoming tenant. Mr John Mathison wrote in regard to the rent due under his perpetual leases numbered 1,014 and 1,040, sections 2 and 4 to 9, block 3, Lower Hawea district, and section 2, block 5, Lower Wanaka.— Referred to Ranger Mackenzie to report. The case of Mr H. Cameron, holder of perpetual-lease No. 329, Gatlins district, who was allowed up to the 29th ult. in which to pay arrears, and had not done so, was considered by the Board, and it was decided to inform him that if the arrears were not paid within one month the Board would have to forfeit .the lease without further notice.

The Board withdrew from sale the following sections, and recommended that they be notified at following prices, with reading added Glcnomaru : Sections 28 and 35, block 4, 21 and 22, block 5, and 34, 35, and 30, block 10. Tuapcka West: Sections 2, 4, 7, 11 to 19, block 1, 17, 18, 30, 31, Mock 2, 40, block 3, 24, 25, 28, 30, 31, 32, 33, block 4, 3, 20, 22, 27, 28, 29, block 7 and 20, block 8. Runklcburn: Section 40, block 0.

Tiie following applications to complete purchase of deferred-payment lands were approved Ceorge Turnbull, sections 76 and 72, block 11, Cleukenieh district; William Cuffie, section 7, block 1, Naseby district; Walter Potts, section 0, block 17, Glcnkenich district.

Mr John Beattie, jun., applied to be allowed to withdraw his application for section 12, block 15, Mauugatua, and to have his deposit returned.—lt was decided to inform Mr Beattie that the surrender would bo accepted if desired, but that the deposit could not be refunded.

Mr S. K. M'Carthy, on behalf of Jacob Lory, wrote asking that the survey fees in respect to his application be allowed to stand over till the balance of the section was disposed of.—The application was granted. ( Mr John Duncan applied for the grazing right over section, 30, block 2, Mauiototo district, on the condition that he kept down the rabbits on the same.—Referred to the Chief Commissioner to arrange. The ease of Mr William Cooper, lessee of section 12, block 10, (ilenkenieh, whose lease had expired by etlluxion of time, and who should consequently have completed purchase of bis section, was considered by the Board, and it was decided to inform him that unless the capitalised value of the unpaid instalments on his section was paid within a month from date steps would bo taken to resume possession of the land. The Receiver of Land Revenue reported that the under-mentioned selectors had now pud arrears C. M'Krlane, J. Kinney, I. Spcdderi, and J. M'Atamny.—The Board rescinded the resolution passed ojf the sth inst. so far as it referred to the selectors mentioned. Mrs M. J. M‘Lcod applied for a grazing right over section 44, block 6, Hillend district. —Referred to the Bruce County Council to say if they had any objection to the granting of the application. The Government were recommended to set apart and open as small-grazing runs, at a rental of 4 per cent, on former capital value (with loading for roads), the undermentioned subdivisions of run No. 17, block 13, Maerewhenua district -.—Run 17c, section 2, 626 a ; run 17u, section 1, 711 a 3r; run 17k, section 5, 481 a2r lOp; run 17k, section 4, 357 a 2r 30p ; run 17d, section 3, 393 a. It was decided to recommend that the subdivision of township reserve (Blair Taieri), block 4, Sutton district, be set apart and declared open by the Governor as village homestead allotments under lease in perpetuity ; applicants to be restricted to one section. The sections to Tie dealt with arc as follow Section 51, i’3 10s per acre, 10s per acre for raiding; section 52, £3 per acre, 10s per acre for raiding; section 53, £3 per acre, 10s per acre for reading; section 54, £4- 15s per acre, 11s per acre for reading; section 55, £4 per acre, 1 Is per acre for reading : section 50, £5 per acre, 12s per aero for reading; section 57, £5 per acre, 12s per acre for reading; section 57, £5 per acre, 12s per acre for reading; section 58, £3 10s per acre, 11s per acre for reading; section 59, £3 10s per acre, 11s per acre for reading ; section 00, £4 5s per acre, 12s per acre for reading; section 01, £4,10s per acre, 12s per acre for raiding; sections 02, 65, and 66, at £3 10s per acre, Ila per acre for loading ; sections 63 and 67, £3 5s per acre, lls per acre for reading; section 64, £3 per acre, lls per acre for reading ; and section 68, £2 per acre, 5s per acre for reading.
