ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
Mrs Rogers,’ of Sydenham, while burning rubbish in her back premises, sustained serious injuries through her clothes taking fire, no one being present to assist her. When discovered she was in such a state that it was fouiu.l necessary to remove her to the Christchurch Hospital, where she lies in a precarious condition. A young man named Anderson had lus loft leg broken in two places by a horse which he was riding stumbling in Maclaggan street this morning. Thomas Farrell, while employed discharging coal from the steamer Herald this |iftornoon, fell off the stage and receive I severe injuries to his head. He was removed to the hospital.
WELLINGTON, April 7. The body of an old man, apparently about sixty, was ■ found floating ott’ ThermionEsplanade this morning. There was nothing on the body to afford a cine to identification. The inquest on the womah Hack, found dead iu Cuba street, showed that she had fallen down in a fit. A verdict of “ Death from natural causes ” was returned.
