The secretary of the Dunedin Dredging Company received the followiog telegram from the dredge-master on Saturday : -" Dredging for five and a-half daya for 31oz gold." Mr Thomas Callender, secretary of the Sew Hoy Big Beach Gold Mining Company, Limited, reports having received a telegram Intimating a return of 109Vz l?dwt retorted gold. The Upper Waipori Alluvial Gold Dredging Company, Limited, obtained from No. 1 Dredge 26nz 4dwt of gold for 5 dayß 8 hours, and from No. 2 I>edge 21oe 6gr of gold for 5 days 17 hours' dredging la>t week, The Island Block Extended Company washed up on Saturday, and obtained 84Joz of gold for a little over five days' work. Nearly a month ago the company shifted the boxeß and plant, and have been opening out a new paddock. Last week thoy obtained a little over 290z of gold from the top stuff in sinking. They have only recently acquired this new ground, which adjoins the ground from which good returns were got last year. THE LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their Lot don office, dated 29ih October :—" Frozen meat: Market for New Zealand beef la understocked. New Zealand beef, forequarters, is worth 3jd per lb; hindquarters, 4id per lb. Quotations nominal. Mutton : Market weaker. Price of mutton has declined £d per lb since last report. Tallow: Market utoady. Good beef tallow has declined 9d per cwt sinco last report. Other quotations unchanged since last cablegram."
