A GOLDEN WEDDING.

AUCKLAND, Mat 3. Sir William and Lady. Fox celebrated their golden wedding to-day. A deputation waited on them at their reaidenoe and presented them with *n illuminated address bearing 800 signatures, in which, besides congratulations, reference was made to the valuable services rendered by Sir William as a politician, temperance reformer, etc. Congratulatory speeches were made by many old identities. Sir William Fox replied, attributing bis long life and good health to his total abstinence from intoxicating drink. He had always been animated by a desire to do what was the best for the colony and for the colonists, both publicly and privately.
