VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

On Saturday the Wakarl Rifles fired'a match against the Dunedin Rifle Club upon the letters Holyrood range. The oondltiois were eight men a side, distances 200, 600, and 600 yards, with seven shots at each. Tho weather was fine at the start, with a moderate wind, which, however, increased in force at the longer distances. While the light lasted some good scores were put together by both teams, but at 600 yds darkness came on rapidly, and obscured the targets for those who were last to shoot, rendering accurate aiming impossible. ,On going back from 200 yds the club led by 6 points, which they increased to 20 at 500 yds, eventually winning the match by 46 points.
