LAND BOARD.
The weekly meeting of the Land Board was held to-day, and attended by the Chief Commissioner and Messrs Clark, Dallas, and Duncan.
The case of Mrs Helen Wilson, holder of perpetual-lease sections 9, 10, and 11, block 6, Gimmerburn, who on the 3rd February last was given two months to show cause why her lease should not be declared forfeited for non-fulfilment of conditions of occupation, was down for consideration, but the question was deferred for further information.
A. Simpson applied for a grazing right over the mining reserve section 3, block 6, Dunback.—Referred to Chief Commissioner.
John Allan applied to be allowed to purchase the water reserve section Bfl, block 5, Shotover. The Lake County Council forwarded a resolution objecting to the reserve being leased or interfered with.—Application declined. Ranger Hughan reported that there are no improvements on the upder-tnentioned forfeited perpetual lease lands, and recommended that they be notified open for applL cation at the prices mentioned i—Section fi, block 10, Mount Hyde, 10s per acre; section 7, block 10, Mount Hyde, 10s per acre; section 10, block 2, Mount Hyde, 10s per acre; section 32, block 7, Glenomaru, 10s per acre ; section 16, block 4, Qlenkeniob, 50b pgr aore.—The Board recommended the first three sections named for notification at the upset prices suggested by the ranger j the other two sections to be offered at previous upsets, Donald M’Leod asked for reduction in rent of small grazing run section 2, block 7, and 3, block 8, Nenthorn.— Consideration deferred. The Board approved of transfer of per-petual-lease section 12, block 10, Knrow, from Mary Mulvenia to Eleanor Rebecca Chalmers, Patrick Phelan’s application for section 34, block 11, Highlay, on perpetual lease, was approved. Applications to complete purchase of deferredrpayment land were made by Alexander Harris, section 6, block 8, Warepa, and Mary Ann M'Namara, section 11, block 4, Swinbourn.—Harris’s application was approved, and consideration of the other was deferred for report from the Ranger. The Receiver of Land Revenue reported that Joseph Soott (section 18, block 8, Kurow) and Patrick Cassidy (section 3, block Maniototo), whose holdings had been declared forfeited, had now paid np arrears. —Resdutions .of 16th nit. and 6tb inst. rescinded so far as they relate to the oases mentioned.
The Receiver forwarded thp following list pf pastoral licensees who have rendered themselves liable to a penalty for late payment of rent, the return being made In pyder that the Board might take such action, If eoy, under section 188 of the Act of 1886 as they should see fitß.
