SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The first meeting of the Mornington School Committee was held on Monday evening immediately after the election, Mr Horsburgh was chosen chairman for the year, and Mr Kyle secretary and treasurer. The chairman and Messrs Austing and Sneddon were appointed a visiting committee for the month of May. It was agreed that the Committee’s funds should be lodged in the Colonial Bank, and that the chairman and treasurer should be authorised to sign cheque?. A meeting of the newly-elected Albany street School Committee was held last night, when all the members were present. Mr W. Barnett was elected chairman, Mr F. Bennett secretary, and Mr D. G. Shepherd treasurer; Messrs Maokie, Anderson, Dickson, and Summerell were appointed a works committee, and Messrs Dickson and Anderson a visiting committee. Some formal business was also transacted.
