PUBLIC NOTICES. DRESS* AT HERBERT, HAYNBS, AND 00. '8. X ABEBD by women who dress well " Where can 1 get a becoming Costume fashionably else?" The nueiut doubtless means that she wants her Individual figure and peculiar tastes studied, the result being a unique and successful combination of the becoming and fashionable. To Buob, our Byatem of doing business should commend itself. By special arrangement we are constantly supplied with the latest Paris Model?, and, by skilful variation and exceptional care, the styles are made to suit Individual figures, while all Novelties in Dress Material are imported in dress lengths only* thus securing an absolute guarantee against oopy. FOR THE AUTUMN AND WINTER SEASONS we have imported a more than ordinarily Choice and Extensive Assortment of Novelties. The Fabrics are all of first-class quality (a circumstance which In this case is happily not incompatible with very moderate prices), and the designs and colorings are evidently the result of speolally-refined taßte and a knowledge of the tendencies of current fashion. Among bo many fabrics it is only possible to notice a few which are of immediate Importance. It will be seen that preference Is given to Stripes in soft rich colorings and looselyworn textures. For example: THB RANPOOR, a now Indian design In Camel-hair Oloth. THE KASHTIVE, a supetb material, with irregular hairy stripes. CASHMERE DE INDF, a self oolor ground, with shaggy stripes at fixed intervals. OOTE DE OHEVAL, a highly-finished Corduroy, with fine lines in contrasting colors. DRAP ZEBRA, a combination of zigzag stripes, with a hairy surface. TERPENTINE RATE, a wave effeot upon satin-finished ground. VIGOURAUX RAYB, a plain Cloth in self colors, with black fleecy stripes. HIMALAYA BROOHE, a shot effect, with lozenge design, sprinkled with silky hairs. JACQUARD AMAZON, a rough though stylish Tweed of Scotch manufacture. VIGOGNE BOUCLB, a double stripe of silky loops and camel • hair In harmonious colorings. TATTERSALL OLOTH, an extreme novelty in coarse diagonal, with acquard design. ROGART TWEED, a heavy Scotch fabric of rare beauty and durability. IN PLAIN CLOTHS, VICUNA will be the favorite, in such colors as grasshopper green, hunters' green, nlckle, beaver, mouse, and bordoux. There is already a great demand for Navy and Black Seiges in the following makes:— Cheviot, Diagonal, Chevron, and Estamlne. In the latter we are showing a specialty known as Squadbon Serge, which 1b guaranteed by the maker as WEAR and WEATHER PROOF. The above will testify to many marked changes in dress, all of which seem to be improvements. We made our first Window Display on SATURDAY, 27th inst., and wait with confidence the verdict of our patrons. HERBERT, HAYNES, AND 00.
