During that space of time the wife had arranged to take a house and live by herself till she could return to England. While at Perth Deeming interviewed Mr W. J. A. Sanderson, formerly of Oamaru, as to the purchase of the foundry in which Mr Sanderson holds an interest. Negotiations were entered into, but Deeming, having to go up country, left word that he would be back soon. When he got back he was not alone. Two policemen were with bim; and it is unnecessary to say that negotiations were not resumed. ' N.O. Times.'
