BOWLING.

A meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association was hold in the Grand Hotel on Tuesday, Mr W. Carlton in the chair, A letter was received from Mr B. Harper, late hon. secretary Naseby Bowling Club, stating that as from a variety of causes the Naseby Bowling Club has for some time ceased to exist, there is no use considering it in any of the Association’s fixtures for some time. It was resolved that LI Is be presented to the caretakers of the Dunedin, Roslyn, and Kaituna clubs. Tenders were opened for printing the report of the annual tournament, but it was resolved that owing to the state of the funds the report be not printed this year. It was decided that a hearty vote of thanks be passed to Mr Mouat for his services as umpire on the Dunedin green during the tournament. It was resolved that a match —Association v. CombincdClubs—bo played, and that the secretary write to the Dunedin Club for permission to play the game on their green on Saturday, 2nd April. Messrs Hogg, Carlton, Mitchell, and Hislop were appointed a committee to arrange the rinks for the Association,

The match Town v. Country is to be played off at Milton on Saturday next, many of the clubs having notified their intention to send players. The secretary of the Milton Bowling Club has written to Mr Capstick stating that the green will be ready, and handed over to the players with pleasure. The Wellington ‘ Press ’ says that there is an appalling number of cases of typhoid under treatment, there being over forty in the hospital alone, and a thorough scheme of drainage is imperative at any cost.
