The valuation oi the Oamaru Borough for the year 1892 93 has dropped from L36.4W to L 33.500. An action for damages arising from the death of the lad W. A. Genge, who was shot last November by a bullet penetrating the target of the shooting gallery on the Oamaru Agricultural Show Ground, comes on for hearing before Mr Justice Williams in the Supreme Court in Oamaru on Tuesday next. The plaintiff is the deceased lad s father, and the defendants are the Agricultural Society, who permitted the shooting gallery to be erected and John Cooper, who owned and erected the gallery. Damages are laid at L3OO. The case is exciting much interest in o<*maru.
