CENTRAL TAIERI RACES.
TO THH EDITOB. Sir,—The few entries to these races is due to the large sum charged by the above club for nominating, and for this reason I, with four other owners, declined to nominate. For the Dunedin Anniversary Handicap, Ll2O, the nomination is 1 sov; Holiday Handicap, LIOO, the same amount. Now, for Central Taieri Handicap, for a race worth about L4O (second money and othes expenses taken off), we have the ridiculous sum of L2 charged for nominating. It is evident that the stewards of the Central Taieri Jockey Club do not want nominations. —I am, etc., Owner. Dunedin, March 7.
