DUNEDIN y. KAITUNA.
On Saturday afternoon representatives of the Dunedin and Kaituna Clubs met on the latter’s green at Montpellier, and, after a capital game, the contest ended in favor of the visitors by two points, The green was heavy after the rain that fell about halfpast two, bat otherwise in good condition. A splendid afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Forrester and Ernst, who were kindly assisted by the Misses Watson, and altogether a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. Alter the game, Mr Wills (president of the Kaituna Club) spoke in praise of the "senior or parent” club, and stated that his club felt proud of being as well up as it was. In responding, Mr Haynes, on behalf of the visitors, in a happy and humorous speech, said ho was pleased the Kaituna Club recognised that it was the privilege of the parent to thrash the child, and not the child to thrash the parent. At the seventh head the scores stood : Dunedin 21, Kaituna 20; at the fourteenth head, Dunedin 48, Kaituna 49 ; at the twenty-first head, Dunedin 73, Kaituna?!.
