The amount of revenue collected at the Custom-house on goods cleared to-day for consumption was LI, 714 5a 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co. have received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, June 26: Large business at firm prices. The greater part catalogued were sold. A change, if any, is in sellers 7 favor." THE LABOR MARKET. Mr Skene reports a steady, healthy demand for farm and dairy people. Station wants at this season are almost confined to rabbiten. Any town work going is simply " from hand to mouth." Country wages keep all right, MIMING NOTES. The following are the Reefton battery returns of amalgam for the week:—Cumberland, 4520z from 131 tons; Alpine, 400oz from 214 toss; Globe, 3700s from 190 tonß (oleining up); Big River, 886ozfrom84tons; Keep-It-Dark, 150cz from 70 tons (dean up); Fiery Cross, 1260z for the week; Progress, 120oz for SJ days. The Upper Waiporl Alluvial Gold Dredging Company obtained 30oz 6dwt of gold for 4 days 22 hours' dredidng last week. Mr Oallender (seoretary to the Sew Hoy Big Beach Gold Mining Company) has received a telegram reporting 1360z amalgam for last week. This yields about 85os retorted gojd. Mr John Mouat this afternoon received the following telegram from Mr Jabea Burton, secretary of the Hercules Company, Roxburgh: —" Washed up 290z 12dwt of gold, valued at Lll4 Is 3d, thirty houiB 1 running, ttluioing stopped owing to the severe frosts." THE LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 26th inst.:—"Tallow is dull of sale; good beef Is worth 25s 6d per cwt.—Frozen Meats: Market weaker; price of mutton has declined §d per lb since last report. Prime Dew Zealand lambs are worth per carcass 4fd per lb; New Zealand bf el-fort quarters worth Sgd, and hindquarters 4gdperlb/'
