[Peb United Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, June 29. The TelegrapK Hotel at Otaki, together with stable and the boot shop adjoining, were burned down on Saturday. The insurances were:—L3oo on the furniture and LIOO on the hotel in the Colonial Union Office. NAPIER, June 29. Mr Nicholls, a teller in the bank of New South Wales, was washed off the breakwater yesterday. He swam round to the wharf, and saved himself through being a powerful swimmer. CHRISTCHURCH. Jdne 29. At the Police Court to-day George Syrret was committed for trial for uttering a silvered penny for a half crown.
