A GROWL FROM THE HILL.
TO THE BDITOB. Sik, —I would like to draw the attention of the City Corporation, or whoever is responsible for keeping the road in repair, to the state of Duncan street, between York place and the carriage drive, and the state of the path between the carriage drive and the Roslyn cable tramway line. This latter path was formed a few years ago and covered with screenings. The path, however, being steep, the screenings were liable to be swept bodily off by any extra heavy rain. We have had this rain, and well nigh all the screenings are away. What I would suggest is : that a ditch be dug on the Belt side of the path—this would carry away the water before it reached the path, and thus there would be a certainty of any screenings put on remaining—and the path itself recovered with screenings. I certainly think that as the road has been formed it should be kept in order. Thanking you in anticipation— l am, etc., Traveller. Dunedin, April 30.
