INSTRUCTION FOR THE BLIND.

A meeting of gentlemen interested in the education of the blind was held at the Town Hall this afternoon. The Mayor presided, and there were also present Rev. Dr Stuart, Messrs W. Hutchison, W. Earnshaw, and D. Pinkerton, M.H.R.s, and the Rev. D, Borrie,

The draft of a report which Dr Stuart was authorised to draw up was read. The most important item in it was the suggestion to send blind children at the usual school age to the public school nearest their home, instead of establishing a branch of the school that has recently been started in Auckland. The meeting was proceeding when we went to press.
