THE HOSPITAL.
A meeting of subscribers to the Dunedin Hospital for the election of two Trustees was held in the Town Hall at 4 p.m. Mr P, Miller (chairman) presided, and there were some fifty subscribers present. Mr A. Solomon proposed and Dr Coughtrey seconded the election of Dr Batchelor. The Chairman said he had intended nominating Dr Batchelor. The Trustees would like to have the benefit of that gentleman’s experience. Messrs J. M. Brown (National Bank), H. P. Hardy, and W. Wright were also nominated.
Mr Will raised the question as to who were entitled to vote. The Chairman ruled that new contributors —that was to say, those who had not subscribed at least eight days before the meeting—were ineligible. Only those who had subscribed for the year just closed could vote.
Dr Batchelor and Mr W. Wright were elected.
