DRAUGHTS, A draughts match was played at the club’s rooms, Wilson’s Hotel, Manse street, last night, before a good muster of players and visitors, who book keen interest in the games. The Committee of the Dunedin Amateur Athletic Club last night selected the following to do “ trials ”on the 21st inst, with the view of selecting a team to represent the club at the championship meeting to be held at Auckland next month, and if the trials are satisfactory to the Committee the team will at once be picked Lorg Jump, J, T, Train and John Taiaroa; Half-mile Flat, P. J. Ness, G. Turton, and A. Bauchop ; 100 yds Flat, R. G, Waldle; One mile Flat, P. J. Ness, H. A. Le Cren, G. Turton, and A. Bauchop; The Walks, A. Bain, jun., and Thomas M'Kelvey; 250 yds Flat, J. Morrison’s resignation as a member of the Committee was accepted, and a special vote of thanks was accorded him for his services to the club on the motion of Mr H. A. Le Cren, seconded by Mr J, A. Harvey, A considerable amount of other business was got through, and several new members we re elected, amongst whom was Mr E. T. Rfc odes, of Timaru, It was intimated that Mr R. Heaton Rhodes, of Christchurch, had accepted the position of delegate for the club to theN.Z.A.A. Association. The Selection Committee of the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club have chosen the following to represent the club at the champion meeting at Auckland:—D. Wood for the Half-mile, One Mile, and Three Miles ; J. F. Grierson, Half-mile and Mile; H, S. Cocks for the Walks; W. J. Moir, for Putting the Weight and Quarter-mile Hurdles; If. W. Postlethwaite for the 120 yds Huidles, Long Jump, and High Jump, No .sprinter has been selected. THE CALEDONIAN GAMES. The judges of bagpipe music at the recent Caledonian sports gave their decision last evening. For pibrochs, marches, and strathspeys, Adair and M‘Donald were adjudged to be equal, and they divided first and second money, Bruce being third. Mr M'Gavin’s medal for the championship was awarded to Adair, with M'Donald second. For young pipers D, M'Kechnie receives first prize, .1. M'Kechnie taking second and A. Jenkins third.
