WELLINGTON, January 6. The following are the revenue returns for the nine months ended December 31 : Customs £1,121,989 Stamps ~ 401,184 Post and Telegraph .. .. .. 30,211 Property Tax 211,468 Beer Duty .. .. .. .. 41,615 Railway 784,791 Registration, etc., Fees .. .. .. 29,903 Marine 14,101 Miscellaneous .. .. .. .. 28,202 Territorial 104.697 Land Fund, ordinary sales .. ... 86,228 Deferred payments .. .. .. 35,789 Total, including shillings and penoe .. £2,878,083 The actual collections are considerably more than the above figures, as the latter only represent moneys brought to account by the Treasury. The accounts for the last quarter of the financial year always contain the largest receipts, because the revenue is telegraphed on the last day from all parts of the colony. The expenditure for the nine months is well within bounds, and the Treasury officials anticipate that the financial results of the year will be up to expectation.
