For Southland, Australian Colonies (via Hobart) India, China, Japan, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc—Per Rotomahana, at 1.20 p.m. Money orders (for Australian Colonies only), registered letters and newspapers at 12 20 p.m. Late letters, C.P.0., at 1.30 p.m. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE, Wednesday, Januaby 7. i The contract steamer Tainul will leave Wellington for Plymouth via Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, January 8. The above mail will close at the Branch Poßt Office, Dunedin North, for money orders at 4 p.m. and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 6th; letters at 9.30 a.m. and newspapers at 5.30 a.m. on the 7th. At the Branch Post Office, South Dunedin, for money ord.is at 4 p.m., registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 6th; and for letters and newspapers at 5 a.m. on the 7th. At the Port Chalmers Offlco at Sam, on the 7'h; rnuiiey orders at 4 p.m , and regis* tered letters at 5 p.m. on the 6th. Late letters bearing an additional single rate of postage as a late foe (2Jd) can be posted in the mail van attached to the North train leaving tho Dunedin railway station at 11 a.m. on thfi 7th.
