On Christmas Day the annual cricket match between the Bruce and Milton Clubs was played at Lawrence, and resulted %a an easy victory for the home team, who scored 130 against 33 and 23 by Milton. For the winners Roscoe played a good innings of 47, while Lock hart (13) was the only Miltonite who managed to get into double figures. A team from the Carisbrook Club paid a visit to Oamaru yesterday and played a match there against the Oamaru Club. The Carisbrook team, going in first, totalled 116 runs. Oamaru could only respond with 38, but on following on put together 100 runß in their second innings. The visitors won the match on the first innings. CANTERBURY CYCLING MEETING. (From Oub Ows Cobrespondent.] First Day—Friday. About 4,000 people attended the Pioneer Bicycle Club's meeting at Lancaster Park, which opened on Boxing Day. A strong N. W. gale blew, making good times out of the question. The Dunedin men showed up prominently, Stead man riding splendidly. During the afternoon Adams (of Christchurch) and Steadman rode a mile on a tandem safety to make a record, doing it in 2min 59 3-ssec. The following were the results : Maiden Roadster.—E.
