Melbourne —Te Anau sailed 5 p.m. Wednesday for Bluff. THE DIRECT STEAMERS, Wellington, June 6. —The Coptic arrived at Wellington at 11.30 last night from London via way ports. She leports leaving London on April 17, Plymouth on the 19th, Teneriffe on the 25th, Capetown_on 12th May, and Hobart on June 1. On 25 th May she experienced a gale, -with terrific sea, and Captain Ketnpaon says that during the number of years that he has been running to the colonies lie has never seen such unfavorable winds as those he experienced from the Equator to Hobart on the present voyage. The Coptic is now commanded by Capt. C. H. Kempson, R.N.R., who for the past twelve months has been in command of the Royal Mail steamers Oceanic and Arabic, on the China station; and previous to this he was third, second, and then chief officer of the steamer in which he now sails. H. A. Braithwaite is purser, having succeeded Mr A. Cameron, who is now purser of tho Atlantic liner Britannic. Mr J. Hallyburton, late chief engineer of the Arabic, succeeds Mr Morrison as chief engineer. The other officers are unchanged.
