THE EXHIBITION.
The attendance on Saturday was 6,043. Included in this total were 4,177 cash admissions, 1,630 admissions of season ticket holders, and 236 of holders of exhibitors’ and attendants’ passes. The Engineers’ Band performed in the woollen octagon on Saturday afternoon and evening; THE DOG-FACED AND CIRCASSIAN BOYS. On Friday Jo-Jo, the Russian dogfaced boy, and the Circassian youth were exhibited for the first time, and in the course of the evening large numbers came into the side - show reserve, where the tent is situated, to gaze at these two extraordinary persons. The Circassian youth, whose peculiarities are a luxuriant head of crispy white hair and a pair of pink eyes, which—and this seems to be the most wonderful part of all—are continually rolling from left to right and back again. The owner greets each visitor cheerily, and has created much astonishment by his powers of “ second sight,” which have in some instances resulted in some remarkable prognostications being made. He is a fluent speaker, and explains that his companion Jo-Jo was caught along with his father, who also was covered with hair, in the wilds of Russia. The father could never become reconciled to civilisation, and died shortly after being captured ; but the boy was cared for, and eventually became civilised. He was educated, and can now converse in several languages ; he can write bis name very well, and altogether is a moat extraordinary being. His face and arms, and indeed his whole body, are covered with hair, which has been pronounced by medical men to be distinctly canine. He is by no means repulsivelooking, and has kindly-looking eyes, which have also a peculiarity that nausea the spectators to remark as to his .resemblance to a dog. In his answers to questions he displays an intelligence which is remarkable when the circumstances under which he was discovered are considered. Tho show is deserving of a visit, and visitors need not fear for having their finer senses shocked in any way.
