LAND BOARD
To-day's meeting waa attended by the Chief Commissioner (Mr J. P. Maitland), and Messrs H. Clark, W. Dallas, J. Duncan, and J. W. Thomson.
Edward A. Amies wrote stating that if the Board would allow him the grazing right over portion of the Hogburn sludge channel reserve he would keep down the rabbits on the area.—Chief Surveyor to be tequested to obtain a report from the District Surveyor.
A memo, was received from the Receiver of Land Revenue regarding the case of several lessees of small grazing runs who were in arrears with their half-yearly rent. —Licensees to be notified that unless arrears are paid by January 28 leases will be forfeited without further notice.
The Warden at Clyde wrote regarding R. Jones's application to purchase a residence area holding at Cambrians, and asked that th 3 matter be allowed to stand over until a further report was received from him,—To stand over accordingly. The Chief Surveyor forwarded surveys of new sections in blocks 10 and 11, Maniototo district, and suggested prices as under, with a view of the land being dealt with:—Block 10: Section 23, containing 184 a 3r '33p, price 20s ; section 24, containing 5a Or 6p, quarry reserve ; Section 25, containing 204 a Or 39p, price 20s ; section 26, containing 144 a Or SCp, price 25s ; section 27, containing 189 a, price 255. Block 11: Section 1, containing 14.1 a "r, price 25s ; section 2, containing 202 alr 33p, prieo g2s 6d; section 3, containing 36a, price 25s ; section 4, containing 145 a 2r, prico 255; section 5, containing 227 a Or 32p, price 20s ; section 6, containing 164 a lr Bp, price 20s; section 7, containing 238 a lr 2Sp, price 22s 6d ; oection 8, containing 78a 3r, price 22s 6d ; section 9, containing 86a 3r, price 22a 6d ; and section 10, containing 68a lr, price 22s 6d.—Government recommended to notify sections.
_Mr W. L. Simpson applied to have sections 6, 7, and 9, block 4, Leaning Rock, grouped and put up as a small grazing run, —Government recommended to revoke proclamation setting aside sections for agricultural purposes, and that the land be set apart as requested, it having been open eince 1879 without being applied for.
F. J. Healey wrote objecting to Messrs Roberts and M'Bride obtaining a lease over 100 acres of land at Crown Terrace. «hotovtr, ior coal mining, lie asked that the &}•>. ■' applied for by Roberts and M'Biido be limned, so :<.y. to admit of other amplications being i;K'<l(.'.---r-Virwa:-c]edto Warden for consideration before reporting on iand. Applications were received and approved as under:—Transfer of deferred-payment license over section 6, block 10, Leaning Rock, from the administrators of James Muir to Kate T. Muir; completion of purchase of deferred-payment land on section 12, Waikoikoi, occupied by David Kirke ; for re-adjustment of purchase lease over section 12, block 5, Glenomarn, at present held by W. Forsyth ; and for rural lands, section 27, block 4, Mount Hyde, on perpetual lease for James Matheson.— Applications approved.
