OBITUARY.
LONDON, May 10. The Rev. Lord Sydney Godolphin Os borne.
[Lord 8. G. Osborne was well known (or his letters on eoolal and philanthropic subjects, published over the signature of "5.Q.0." in 'The Times.' His Lordship vhited Ireland for benevolent purposes during the famine of 1847, and also in the year in Which the cholera prevailed; and he received the thanks of the Government for benevolent services rendered at the Scutari hospitals during the Crimean War. He has published several books aud pamphlets, having for their object the amelioration o( the moral and physical condition of the humbler olasses.— Abridged from' Men of the Time.')

Mr Henry H. Howorth, member for Salford, has tabled a motion in the House of Commons the effect of which is to ask the Government to appoint a Royal Prince to succeed the Marquis of Londonderry as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland.

A fresh eruption of lava from Mount Vesuvius has occurred, and causes anxiety to tho neighborhood. THE EPSOM DERBY. LONDON, Mat 10. To-day's quotations for the Derby are as follow.—2 to 1 against Donovan, 10 to 1 Enthusiast and El Dorado, 25 to 1 Ben Strome, 33 to 1 Mogul, CRICKET. LONDON, May 10. Spofforth took three wickets for Derbyshire in the match between that county and an eleven of Surrey. A RADICAL MEMORIAL. LONDON, May 10. The Radical members of the House of Commons have sent a memorial to Lord Salisbury, asking him to compel Earl Lytton to return to the Paris Exhibition.
MONETARY AND COMMERCIAL. LONDON, May 10.
Tho Bank of England's reserve is L 13.500.000, and the percentage to liabilities is 40£. Consols are firmer at 99 per cent. New Zealand 4 per cents are quoted at 105£. Australian wheat (ex warehouse), average quality, is at 395; New Zealand longberried (ex store) is weaker at 38s 3d. Copper is recovering, and is quoted at L4O.
German sugar is weaker at L2l; Java sugar is nominally at L 23. Iron is valued at 445.
Tallow—Best mutton, 25s 6d ; beef, 26s Gd, Tho market is quiet.
ARMENIAN OUTRAGES. CONSTANTINOPLE, May 10. It is now reported that the tale of outrages in Armenia probably originated in the fact that Sourikauri, an Armenian chief, maltreated his bride and finally boiled her.
