The Auckland Amateur Athletio and V>icycling Club held their nineteenth carnival at the Domain Cricket Ground on Saturday, about 2,000 personß boing present, The raoes wore well contested, the fields being large. The club championship (200 yds) was won by B, Owen, IT. H. Davy being second, and C. Klmslie third. The Twenty-five-mile Bicycle Championship of New Zealand is to be decided on Tuesday afternoon. At the autumn meeting of the Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club, held on Saturday, the 120 yds handicap and quarter-mile handicap were both won by H. M. Reeves from scratch, who reduced the records for the
distances to 12sec and f>2 2-ssec respectively. The other events were well contested. At a cricket match at Wellington on Saturday, tho players being ovor fifty years of age, L 22 was collected at the gates in aid of the Home for the Aged aud Needy. There was a capital attendance on the Dunedin Bowling Club's green on Saturday, when a match was played between sides—A to L v. I\l to Z—aud tho former were victorious (after an excitiug contest) by S points. The players were— Haynes, Corliss, Flyger, Harrop (s) v.
