Sin, —On behalf of Messrs Smith and Densem we beg to enlighten the public mind with regard to the actions of these gentlemen during their vocal career, which has been so very prosperous. We, therefore, append a list (for which we crave space) of some of the concerts, benefits, etc., at which they have assisted without remuneration :

Highland Bifles’ do, Scherek’s do. First Church bazaar, Art Society, Choral Society (‘Pinafore’), Jeffrey’s benefit, M'Cutcheon’s do, Mr Densem. Wilson’s benefit, Colonel Stavely’s do, Bradshaw memorial, Mrs Cameron’s benefit (twice), Frank Cates’s do, Stockwell’s do, 0. J. Norman’s do, Fraser’s do, Baber’s do, Miss Hume’s do, Greenwood Family’s do, Knox Church bazaar, Jewish do, St. Paul’s do, St. Matthew’s Church, St. Andrew’s Church, Caversham Presbyterian Church, Mornington School, Caversham do, Oddfellows, Green Island School, Benevolent Institution, Kaikorai Band, Irish Riflea, Schacht’s pupils’ concerts, Barth’s do do, Mias West’s do do, Highcliff School, Mosgiel Band, First Church bazaar. Art Society, Choral Society (‘ Pinafore ), Jeffrey's benefit, M'Cutcheon’s do. At the request of the beneficiarea we withheld replying to the remarks of correspondents, anticipating that some of those connected with the above would have replied on their behalf. We, however, withhold further comment, and leave the public to judge whether or not they are deserving of their support. No further notice will be taken by us of correspondence in connection with this matter, as we do not desire to make the letter columns of a newspaper the medium of advertising.—l am, etc., J. A, X.
