SPORTING INTELLIGENCE.

On tho strength of a reported trial this mortung between Occident and Wolverine, and which is said to have resulted in favor of Mr Stephenson's horse, there havo been inquiries for him to-day for the Duncdin Cup.

FORBURY TRAINING NOTES. No Northern horseß are down yet, with the exception of Ixion, who does not Impress one at first glance as being above the common. SThe three local Cup horses were walking about, but neither they nor Captain Cook had worked up to breakfast time this morning. Goodman was early afield with Apropos and Moss Rose, this pair pntting in a fast gallop before any strangers were about. Pcasblossom beat Don Ciesar in a half-mile spin, and Miss Ann had none the worse of a similar gallop with Don Pedro. Dunluce went two miles at half speed. Civis and Waitangi went the same distance a bit faster. Mon Loup was pulling hard in a two-mile gallop with Dispute, and could have left the latter at any time he wished. Old Judge started with them, but dropped out at a mile and a quarter. Aprus Moi led Warlock in a fast six-furlong spin. Garibaldi galloped three miles, taking an occasional jump. Shifnal and Assyrian King cantered three miles.
