GEOLOGY.
TO THK KDITOII. Sin,--The Rev. R. Bavin, at the Wcslcyan Conference, declares that the statements of the Bible are quite consistent with the youthful science of geology. Now, thoEe who do not happen to have more faith than reason have a word to say on that point. Denton, an American scientific gentleman who visited Dunedin some years ago, in one of hia theological pamphlets, points out that the record of the creation is at varianco with truth. Thus, the Bible says that fish and fowl were created on the same day. I ask the question : Are there any geologists, Christian or otherwise, who place the creation of birds before reptiles ? In our own museum we have a geological tree which either teaches iufidelity or truth. Its record is fish, reptile, bird; the Bible's, fish, bird, reptile.—l am, etc,, Anti-Bible. Dunedin, February 7.
