Ringarooma, s.s., C 23 tons, Allman, fir Melbourne. Passengers : Mcsdames Rawdon and Aslin, Messrs Aslin, Rawdon, Taylor, Oper. The barque Hudson has put out 250 tons of cargo at the cross wharf. The ship Taranaki is taking in ballast. She has still i little deadweight cargo to put out. The Tarawcra steamed up from Port Chalmers this forenoon and took in cargo at the Rattray street wharf. The Mawhera arrived at Dunedin at 10 p.m. yesterday. She left Greymouth at Ipm. on the 4th inßt., and experienced fine wpathcr duiing the paspage. \Vc thank Purser Murray for report. The s.s. Elderslie shipped at Oamaru in twenty-seven working hours 230 bales of wool, 12,710 carcasses of fiozen mutton, and ofi cises of kidneys. r lhc Beautiful Star, with cargo and passengers, arrived at 10 p.in. yesterday. She left Oamaru at 3 p.m. The Wakatipu left Sydney at 1.3-1 a.m. on January 30; had strong head winds till she breasted Cape Farewell at 8.30 a.m. on the 4th inst. ; arrived at Wellington at 9.30 p.m. name day ; left 1.50 p.m. on the sth ; arrived at Lyttclton at 7.30 a m, on the 6th, and loft at 6.5 p.m. and arrived here at 2 p m. to-day. The men who wore discharged by the Northern Steamship Company at tho con-chii-ion of the dispute with the Seamen's Union aio still idle, and it Rooms doubtful if any arrangements will be made for their admission to the Union. They complain very bitterly of the treatment to which they have been subjected. A copy of tho London auditors' report on tho accounts of tho Christchurcli office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has be™ received by the Kaikoura. It submits a list of questions for consideration by the London Board, but does not impugn the correctness of the local accounts. It practically suggests a modification of the present system of bookkeeping. Tho local Board will draw up a memorial of explanation. H.M.'s Orlando and Lizard passed the Ocean Beach at 10.20 this morning.
The Grafton landed caigo at the Rattray street wharf to-day. H.M. ship Liz ml arrived this afternoon from the Sound", and pawed the Port for Dunedin. A description of her appeared in our is»ue of the 4th insfc. She is under the command of Lieutcuant-comman.kr Francis B. felly; navigating lieutenant, Edward Winthrop; second lieutenant, Hon. D'Arcy Lambton; surgeon, J. L, Eagnell Oakley, M.D.; assistant-paymaster, James H. F Compton; chief engineer, R, Harding; chief gunner, Samuel Gurowich. The Lyttelton Harbor Board have a credit balance of L 4,000, and L. r » 000 at fixed deposit. It was announced that tho service had been successful, and that a new and larger steamer would bo shortly required. The graving dock had not been much usfd, though tho charges compared favorably with other ports in the world, and the climate was more suitable for docking. Tho Sailors' Homo is very useful, and had been used by 215 men during tho year. The Board have decided to treat tho L5.C00 as a renewal fund to cover depreciation on plant, etc., and avoid the raising of the wharfage dues. MOVEMENTS OP THE UNION STEAM SHIP COMPANY'S FLEET.
