SCHOOL VACATIONS.
BROAD BAY SCHOOL,
This school closed on Friday, the Rev. Mr Greig presiding. Addresses were given by the Chairman, Rev. Mr Clark (Palmerston), and the master (Mr Huie). Several choruses, solos, and recitations were rendered, and one of the latter by Master D. Anderson was greatly applauded. Prizelist : Standard I. William WahlguUt, Oliver Wahlguist. Standard ll.—Edmund Ward, Charles Geary, Alexander Wahlguist. Standard lll.—Hubert Green, John R. Ward. Standard IV.—Mary Dawion, Lucy Welbonrne. Standard V.—Nellio M'Leotl, Jane Geary. Standard Vl.—William Anderson, Arthur Ward. Seven first and three second-class certificates were issued. A special prize (a Waterbury watch) was given by the master, and was awarded by lot to William Ward.
DOMINICAN CONVENT SCHOOL. Tins school broke up yesterday afternoon, Bishop Moran presiding and distributing the prizes to the successful scholars. The proceedings commenced with a programme of vocal and musical selections by the pupils, all of which were creditably performed and deserve fuller mention than we have space to devote to them. There was also a display of needle and fancy work, drawings, maps, etc., the skill displayed in which was worthy of great praise. The following is the prizelist:—
