CIVIL WAR AT SAMOA.
Sydney, October 9s. The steamer Lubeck, which arrived to-day from the Islands, brings Samoan news up to the 16th. The representatives of England, America, and Germany have held a conference at Apia, and determined certain lines of neutral territory, where rio firearms will be allowed:
Admiral Fairfax has informed Tamasese that should any of the latter's party in boats again fire on neutral territory, the warships in Apia, Harbor will fire on them,, unless the boats at once surrender. Tamasese has assured the admiral that no further firing on neutral territory will take place. H.M.S. Lizard will remain at Apia for a time in order to protect British interests. The Tamasese party, who retired to Mulunui Point after suffering defeat at the hands of the followers of Maatafa, the king elect; have how deserted that stronghold and taken iip a position at Saluafata, twelve miles to the eastward.
