At Wimbledon last month there was better shooting for the Elcho Shield than has ever been seeu in any of the twenty-six years since the competition was instituted. The Irish team won with a grand total of 1,652, or 82 points more than that of the winning team last year, and 10 points mote than has ever been made in an Elcho Shield match. For the Irish eight Captain Barnitt scored 216 out of a possible 225 points, thus beating the highest individualrecord by one. The English were second with a total iof 1,642, and the Scotch score was 1,568.
