VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
In consequence of the finding of the Commission that inquired into the dispute between the Dunedin Hussars and the Port Navals, Captain Stronach intends to resign his command of the former.
The Port Chalmers Naval Artillery fired a series of matches last week for their belt and medals, Lieutenant M‘Donald being successful in winning the belt, P.O. Harrhy the gold medal, and P.O. Wilson the silver medal. A team from the Oamam Naval Artillery will pay a visit to the I' > t on tho Prince of Wales’s Birthday for the purpose of firing a match with the Port Navals. A match was fired at the Peliehet Bay range on Saturday between ten boys a-side of tho Albany and Union street Schools cadets. The latter were victorious by 21 points, the scores being—Albany street, 211; Union street, 232, The South District and the Wakari Rifles met on the latter’s range on Saturday afternoon to fire a friendly match. The wind was very strong and changeable, which, together with the small inner being used at the shorter ranges, will amount for the low scores made. The Wakari men won by 28 points, the following being the scores
