The Rarigitikei County Council Chambers were burnt to the ground last night. They cost L9OO, and were insured in the Standard office for L6OO.

Word has been received that the Mahikipawa diggings, near Havelock, have been proclaimed, and that a sum has been placed on the Estimates for the survey and formation of a road to the field.
